Tis the Season to Remember to Shop Small

Small, Mom and Pop, local businesses are still the backbone of our community here in the Broad Channel and Rockaway area.  They are local people serving local people and are generally committed to staying in the community.

Spending our hard earned money locally serves to protect the prosperity and distinctive flavor of our neighborhood.

Spending locally also results in increased contributions to local causes.

Spending locally also keep dollars in our community and often provides employment opportunities for our local youth.

Local spending also generally guarantees a much broader range of product services as the stores will select products based on the needs of their local customers.

I know what you are all thinking to yourselves - "Wait a minute here! Who are you kidding, small shops are are more expensive than the larger stores."

That may be true but...in addition to the above advantages, when you patronize a small local business you can always yell at the owner when you are dissatisfied!  Try that at a mega-store.
